Sironcha Tehsildar Nilesh Honmore has been suspended for alleged negligence in curbing illegal sand mining. The Maharashtra government took this stern action following a detailed inquiry that revealed large-scale illegal excavation causing major revenue losses. The move has sparked intense reactions and warnings across the district administration.

“Bungalows at Ravi Bhavan can be used year-round, with repair work undertaken as required,” says Superintendent Engineer Janardan Bhanuse, confirming that the ministerial residences are not just for the legislative session but remain functional throughout the year. Detailed renovation is underway for three specific bungalows (nos. 9, 18 and 29) whose roofs and tiles required complete replacement, and work continues in phases as needed to keep the aged estate—now around 75 years old—in operational condition.
