The Maharashtra government has finally granted constitutional status to the Scheduled Castes Commission, a long-standing demand. Former Social Justice Minister and MLA Rajkumar Badole, who consistently pursued this issue since 2015, played a key role in bringing it to fruition. The move, led by CM Devendra Fadnavis, empowers the commission with greater authority to investigate injustice and promote the socio-economic and educational rights of the Dalit community.
