Congress leader Nana Patole was suspended for a day from the Maharashtra Assembly after he attempted to lift the Speaker’s mace in protest against BJP leader Babanrao Lonikar’s controversial remarks on farmers. Deputy CM Eknath Shinde hit back, saying Patole’s actions were a ploy to remain in the limelight, adding, “Bap to bap hota hai.”
