On Monday, July 28, an unidentified individual threw colored powder on the full-sized statue of Mahatma Gandhi near the Old Panchayat Samiti in Sakoli. The act disfigured the statue’s face and raised public outrage. Police immediately cleaned the statue and appealed to citizens to refrain from such disrespectful actions on statues of national leaders in public places.
